I've Been Tagged!

Marion, from the Herbal Connection, has challenged me to tell five things about myself that nobody knows. I told her that was going to be a little difficult, since I've been spilling my guts about just about everything about myself on this blog or my Day by Day one for some time now.

But I did manage to think of a few things that I don't imagine would ever come up in a regular post, so here goes, in no particular order.

1. I played the piano in a talent contest on the stage of the Alabama Theater when I was a little girl. I didn't win.

2. I couldn't stand Elvis Presley, until he sang "Love Me Tender."

3. My favorite Elvis Presley movie was "Flaming Star," because he died in the end.

4. I used to teach students how to use a slide rule with a working 4 foot long slide rule in front of the class.

5. I once got caught dating 3 boys from 3 different high schools at the same time.

Now, as I understand it, I'm supposed to tag 5 more bloggers and put this task on them, too. Well, you've got to understand me a little bit better, I guess. I might play along enough to come up with 5 things about myself, but the idea of passing the tag along to someone else is totally against my nature. Sorry Marion, but this branch of the tag stops here.

#5? Well, maybe, Chana, but it sounds juicier than it really was, believe me.

If I had kept the piano up, I would have been really good, as I was quite the prodigy. But I didn't enjoy it as a child, and Mama had to make me practice. I don't play at all now. Talent wasted. Use it or lose it.

Wow...three guys at once! I'd love to hear the whole story.

Sorry, DB, that I tagged you, and it's perfectly alright with me that you didn't tag anyone else. These games sometimes can get out of hand; seems I overstepped boundaries.

Don't apologize, Marion. I was uncomfortable at the thought of it at first, but once I came up with 5 things I really didn't mind sharing, it was kinda fun. As for boundaries, well, I'm just funny that way. I don't forward jokes or chain emails or any of that kind of stuff. It drives my DD crazy.

Oh thank you for not tagging me. I feel like such a grinch when I do not respond.

I did enjoy reading your list, however. Ditto on Elvis and the hands on learning (only way to learn).

From all the tagging and memes that seem to be going on all over the blogosphere, I really thought I was the only one who was uncomfortable tagging anyone. So at least there are two of us, Cybercelt, eh?

Thank you for the post.
Your hearty words have gifted a relaxation and thus the gloomy sky of today has stopped to press me down. While reading your 5 confessions, I didn't hear any moralizations, but your sincerity has achieved much more than any psychologist could dream about, you have inspired me the burning desire to respond- to act - to awake and walk further in healing mystery of trust. Thank you.

I'm glad you enjoyed my "confessions," Tomas, although, frankly I didn't think of them that way. Let's just say they're 5 things about me that I probably would never have thought to blog about.

DB,
I'm the same way with stuff like this, but I did it anyway and I'm glad you did too.

I've always been such a private person, Sheila, and I still am everywhere except on these blogs. Funny how open and comfortable I feel here. I can see why some people get into trouble revealing way too personal details about themselves and leaving themselves open for predators and pedophiles.

I never did learn how to use a slide rule. I don't suppose anybody learns now.

I don't guess anybody uses them any more, Anvilcloud, but we sure did when I was teaching Chemistry and Physics! We didn't have calculators back then - just our old trusty slide rules.
